Whitener is otherwise known an abrasive polisher. This is a technique used to remove a layer of bran from rice by polishing using rough stones. The rice is gently passed through the abrasion chamber between specific silicon carbide stones and, by this process, the brown rice turns white. The removed bran is collected by the attached external suction blower.

Silky polishes the outer surface of the rice with water through a rotating camshaft. Silky polisher comes with an inbuilt water atomizer system that sprays water evenly over rice and passes through a camshaft roller. Due to friction polishing and water mixture, the glazing rice resulted.
